Some websites are built in just a few weeks. Others drag on for months. The difference isn't in the project itself or its complexity, but in a few small details that are sure to slow down the entire process. What are they?

How long does it take to build a new website?

„It depends.“ The answer no one wants to hear. But at the same time, the only correct one.

Every website is different. That's a fact. The time it takes to build a website is influenced by:

  • scope of the project,
  • amount of content,
  • the complexity of functions and animations,
  • but also the speed of decision-making on the client's part.

But you want to hear a number, right? Well, here it is: based on our experience, it takes usually 6 to 12 weeks.

But how is it possible that weeks sometimes turn into months? Surprisingly, it's usually because neither development nor design. The biggest obstacles are usually found elsewhere.

1. Provide feedback gradually

Do you have any feedback on the proposal? Send it in. In two days, you'll think of something else. And a week later, someone from the team will add a comment.

At first glance, it seems like a minor detail. But in reality, chaos ensues. The team has to keep track of what's current. And that kind of fragmented feedback takes you much more time.

What should you do instead? The most efficient approach is to first collect the feedback, consolidate it, and send it all at once. This saves time for both you and us.

2. Rethink decisions that have already been made

Web development is a process. Things are always changing; adjustments are constantly being made. That's normal. The problem arises when We're always going back somewhere.

An approved draft is reopened. The final structure is being changed. The text is rewritten several times. And after weeks, there’s no sign of progress.

What should you do instead? Together, we'll start by defining the strategy, goal, and direction of the website. When you're overwhelmed with ideas, go back to the basics and don't hesitate to reach out to us.

3. Don't let too many people have a say on the website

Involving more people in the project can be a major advantage. The marketing team will bring a perspective on communication, the sales team will contribute experience with customers, and management will provide strategic context.

When everyone has the right to make the final decision, you'll have to grapple with conflicting opinions. And instead of the best website, you'll end up with just the best compromise.

What should you do instead? Choose one person who will have the final say and help move the project forward.
