How can a single photo improve the success of your business meetings?

Professional team photos are often the last thing companies have time for. Even here at Apador, we put off our team photo shoot for what seemed like an eternity. And it wasn’t until now that we realized just how much we’d been missing those group photos in our marketing and sales efforts.

Cheese! Or, How We Took Pictures at Apador

I thought team photos were just a nice-to-have. Maybe that's why it took us so long to get around to the photo shoot. D-Day came in March, when almost the entire team posed for the camera.

The idea was simple. We don't want anonymous faces behind our websites. We want clients to know who will be creating their website, even if they don't meet every member of the team in person.

And the result? I was thrilled with it, and He started using photos everywhere. I added them to the menus. I added them to the presentations. And most importantly, I started using them at business meetings.

You can't do anything without a photo these days

Ever since then, I've been pulling out our team photo every time I present a new proposal to a client. I'll introduce our team and describe it in detail, who is the graphic designer, who will handle the code, and who is in charge of the data.

And then it’s as if something has changed. The ice is broken, the atmosphere relaxes, and I can feel our rapport soaring. Suddenly, we’re not just talking about code, but about our developer, David. And the design ceases to be anonymous, because the client knows, that our Tomáš is behind it.

Why Will a Group Photo Work for You, Too?

The service does not include just the result of your work, but also the team's overall cooperation and attitude.

If a client forms an impression of the people at your company right from the very first meeting, they'll start to trust someone more quickly than after a hundred emails.

A photo breaks down invisible barriers and builds instant trust.

TO-DO: Company Photo Shoot

This experience was a real eye-opener for us. We discovered that investing in a photographer yields an immediate return on investment.

Since then, we've had a new rule. Whenever we build a company website, we recommend to our clients combine the project with a professional photo shoot.

This instantly boosts the overall effectiveness of the new website. Graphics and text are important, but it’s the faces of real people that make the website a place where people want to shop.

3 Tips for Your Company Photo Shoot

  1. Don't take pictures of people in front of the gray wall

Forget about posed photos like those on ID cards. Take photos of people in action, at tables, and moving naturally. Authenticity works.

  1. Show us real people

Everyone on the website should have a clear role. The client wants to know who they'll be talking to on the phone tomorrow and who's sending them emails.

  1. Give your photos a consistent style

The clothing, colors, and mood of the photos must align with your brand. Only then will the photos look professional and credible.

You Can't Sell Services Without Trust

An attractive design and modern features are absolutely essential for a successful website. However, without a human touch and mutual trust, it’s difficult to offer services. Our own experience has shown that revealing the faces of the team breaks down barriers even before the first handshake takes place.
